As the space we are most familiar with and have spent the most time in, home is a keen yet distant memory for us. It is a long-term memory that does not rely on a specific image, time or event as an anchor, but exists freely in the mind in the form of fragments. Every time our eyes lightly glance over the walls, tables, ceilings and various objects, their positions, shapes and smells leave an thin shell in our minds. We carry this shell with us everywhere and it becomes a part of our bodies, creating a minimal safe space, but also bringing us a sense of forlornness and anxiety caused by leaving this space. To fill this melancholy, home appears uninvited in dreams and imagination, sometimes not exactly reflecting the physical dimension of the reality or memory, but bringing us the feeling of home. Everyone has different memories of home, but some of the senses are universal. This piece aim to recreate and reconstruct home based on that feeling, isolated and suspended in space, where the true face of the memory becomes unrecognizable and unimportant.
